I was like 25 out of 85 or something similar. I’m only running 205’s, AND they aren’t full slicks just R-compounds. Hard to keep up with national championship Corvettes and Spec Miatas that get trailered in, whereas my car is a daily driver.

Ahh, just saw the trailer and assumed R-comps. Yeah. Slick shod Miatas are pretty much impossible to keep up with without some r-comps of your own.

R-compound =/= slicks. My track tires are Toyo Proxes R888 which is an r-compound tire. Very soft rubber, very stiff sidewall, with directional tread grooves so they are still decent in moist conditions.

Compared to the type of tire these track-toy cars run, it’s not even in the same league. It’s the same leap from a “normal” summer tire to an R-comp, as it is from R-comp to a full slick.

Yeah, I always get the nuances wrong since there’s so much grey area at the moment with a bunch of r-comps being given higher treadwear ratings to be street tire legal for autoX, so tend to refer to slicks as r-comps. Full slicks (not DOT slicks) are next on my list of upgrades. Going to go really wide with a huge offset.

I believe someone on the MR2OC forums had a group buy a few years back.

It’s really REALLY hard to fit wide tires under the fenders on these cars. Lots of rolling and probably throwing away the plastic fender liner is required. Hence why I’m still on 205’s lol

Yep, the fender liner’s already gone and the fender’s going to get rolled or cut. That’s the other reason I’m looking at custom wheels with a huge offset. I want the width to extend out, not in. I found a company that makes custom wheels for a reasonable amount of money. I’m looking at 9.5 or 10 inch width.
